We at MainBrainer want you to have a CRM that runs by your rules.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"elevio-box-success\"><p>When importing a file into the CRM, by default, the values for the opt-in status fields (i.e., the fields &#8211; SMS Marketing and Email Marketing) need to be passed as:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><strong>True\/Yes<\/strong> for contacts who have opted in, and<\/li>\n<li><strong>False\/No<\/strong> for contacts who have opted out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"elevio-box-warning\"><p>But we understand that the data you wish to import might contain the opt-in status with different terminology, say <strong>OptedIn<\/strong> for contacts who have opted in and <strong>OptedOut<\/strong> for those who have opted out.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"padding: 14px 0;\"><\/div>\n<h2>How to Import a File with custom values as Opt-in Status<\/h2>\n<p>In such a case, you can edit the field settings of the CRM&#8217;s opt-in status fields<span style=\"color: #cccccc;\">&nbsp;<\/span><em>(i.e., the fields &#8211; SMS Marketing and Email Marketing)<\/em> in accordance with your incoming data.<\/p>\n<p>You can do so at the <strong>Mapping<\/strong> step of your <a href=\"\/hc\/popular\/how-to-import-contacts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">data import process<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the Mapping screen, the entries under the heading <strong>Column Name<\/strong> represent the columns in your import file.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 14px 0;\"><\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1627\" title=\"Custom import column name\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mainbrainer.com\/hc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/crm-import-mapping-columns.png\" alt=\"CRM custom import, mapping. Map to field column highlighted\" width=\"640\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 20px 0;\"><\/div>\n<p>Scroll down the list and navigate to the opt-in status field in your import file for which you wish to customize the field settings to suit your incoming data.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"elevio-box-success\"><p>For example, let&#8217;s take the case of the SMSOptIn field in your Excel file.
